Grief support groups

We arrange grief support groups for students in Oslo. The groups are free of charge and are led by the university chaplains from the Norwegian Humanist Association and the Church of Norway.

Everyone can experience grief when a person we have, or have had, a relationship with dies. In the grief support groups, you will meet students in similar situations, receive help to manage your grief, and have the opportunity to support others who have experienced loss due to death. The grief groups are based on the participants' needs and experiences.

At Blindern, we offer grief support groups in both Norwegian and English. The groups accommodate three to seven students, and meeting schedules vary between weekly, biweekly, or every three weeks. All participants are invited to an individual consultation before joining the grief group for support and to address any questions.

English-speaking groups

The student humanist and the student chaplain start up new English-speaking grief support groups once the spots are filled.
